Claire's Comments:
Deke McClelland writes well and makes this book an interesting read
(Deke was the first person to introduce me to one or two
of the Adobe "Easter Eggs"). For me, this book
has been a great reference book with good
explanations of the various/multitudinous tools and effects
of Photoshop. While the book contains many tutorials, that's
not how I use it -- when I want to know what the funky little
lasso icon does, I grab this book and look in the index
under "lasso".
The book also comes with a CD... that I must
admit to not having used.
WARNING:
This book is not
a basic introduction to Photoshop -- while it has many
tutorials, this book is best left for when you have specific
questions about particular tools/features, not to learn Photoshop. For a basic introduction
to Photoshop, check out Adobe Photoshop : Classroom in a Book
