Claire's Comments: Fascinating book -- Deke McClleland, author of the Photoshop Bible, interviewed 16 professional artists on their tips and techniques used in specific pieces of their art. This book walks you through those tips and techniques. Because a variety of artists were interviewed, the book has a variety of levels of usefulness -- some chapters were most informative, others old hat. But all-in-all, I really enjoyed Studio Secrets and picked up a number of lessons from the "behind-the-scenes" tales. And here's a silly bit of work I did after reading the chapter about Mark Moore (Industrial Light & Magic) and his creation of an alien protoype (for a movie) created by severely distorting a normal photograph of a man in Photoshop. Click for larger (34k) version. The book also comes with a CD ... that I have yet to look at... I'm not much of a CD person. WARNING: This book is not a basic introduction to Photoshop and assumes a working knowledge of Photoshop.
