IT WASN'T YOUR IMAGINATION
That's right, you didn't miss reading last week's newsletter,
there wasn't one. But I'm back this week and let me tell you,
there have been *tons* of great additions to FreeGraphics.com
(see them all at the end of this rather lengthy newsletter).
I had hoped to announce a new feature this week and dad-blast
it, I just didn't get it finished. But since I had so wanted
to announce it -- here's a hint: soon you'll not only be able
to find free graphics at FreeGraphics.com, but also artists
who do custom work for free, artists who work for barter, and
yes, artists who will work for cold hard cash.
TEXTPAD
http://www.textpad.com/
I'm testing out a new editor for this newsletter. Past issues
have had some formatting problems for people using Exchange --
previously, the only way I could correct the problem was to go
in and manually add line breaks to the newsletter. With
Textpad, it's done automatically (if I've configured it
correctly) -- you Exchange readers out there let me know if
this newsletter looks okay. If it does, I've got a new piece
of software to register.
QUICKTIP
Been playing around with your foreground and background colors
in Photoshop and want the default black and white back? Sure
you can click and recover them, but for you keystoke fanatics
out there, just hit the letter D.
(Want to submit your own QuickTip? QuickTips can be about a
particular graphics software program, about FreeGraphics.com,
about graphics in general (such as optimization, transparency,
etc.), or about general site production. QuickTips are
limited to 50 words or less (yes, I count them, URLs count as
one word). Submit your QuickTip to
mailto:webmaster@freegraphics.com - if I use it, you'll get a
mention here in the newsletter along with a link to your site
-- no adult sites, please.)
WEEKLY DOWNLOAD
This week's download is from freegraphics.com is a "remote
control" interface and looks something like a fall leaf
light-switch plate circa 1973 (that's not an insult -- it's
retro, I meant for it to look like that... really). Download
it at: http://www.freegraphics.com/download.html
